INTUITIVE INTERSECTION SUPPORT

INTUITIVE INTERSECTION SUPPORT

The LS features Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), an advanced system that is designed to alert the driver to vehicles or bicycles that may be approaching from either side of the intersection. When the FCTA system detects a vehicle or bicycle, from up to approximately 50 metres away, it will alert the driver via the HUD and the Panoramic View Monitor.³

PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM

The Pre-Collision System (PCS) is designed to take action when a frontal collision is detected, and for the first time features lowlight pedestrian detection and daytime cyclist detection.

First, the system will alert you via an audible buzzer and visible “BRAKE” warning in the Head-up Display (HUD). Once you have hit the brakes, the system will check whether you have applied enough pressure. If you haven’t, it may add a little extra to avoid or reduce the severity of a collision.

If the hazard is too close, the PCS is designed to activate, applying a large amount of pressure to help you stop sooner and minimise any damage.³

CRUISE CONTROL WITH ROAD SIGN ASSIST

In addition to constant speed control, when turned on, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) surveys and responds the vehicle’s environment, helping the driver maintain a set vehicle-to-vehicle following distance.³

With the help of Road Sign Assist (RSA), the vehicle speed can easily be reset by the driver if the speed setting is higher or lower than the detected speed limit.³

LANE TRACING ASSIST

LANE TRACING ASSIST

Unintentionally veering out of your lane is one of the most dangerous yet common driving situations, so it’s comforting to know that the LS features Lane Tracing Assist (LTA).

LTA, which operates when the DRCC is on, is a multi-faceted system that is designed to alert you and then provide corrective steering assistance if it detects the possibility of you unintentionally veering out of your lane.³

ROAD SIGN ASSIST

ROAD SIGN ASSIST

When you’re fully focused on the road, the inbuilt Road Sign Assist (RSA) acts as an extra pair of eyes, designed to alert you to changes in the speed limit. The front camera is designed to detect regulatory speed signs, showing them on the multi-information display and the Head-up Display.

RSA is also designed to notify you if the vehicle exceeds the displayed speed limit.³

ADAPTIVE HIGH-BEAM SYSTEM

ADAPTIVE HIGH-BEAM SYSTEM

To help optimise vision at all times, each LS features an Adaptive High-beam System (AHS) that is designed to intelligently detect both oncoming and preceding light from other vehicles. This automatically shuts off the high beams as needed and reactivates once the path ahead is clear.

The LS headlamps also feature cutting-edge BladeScan™ optical technology that is designed to expand the illumination area to cover the maximum field of view without dazzling drivers of vehicles ahead.³

REVERSE WITH CONFIDENCE

REVERSE WITH CONFIDENCE

The LS features a range of technology intuitively designed to alert and assist the driver when reversing and parking.

These include the Parking Support Alert (PKSA), the Parking Support Brake (PKSB) and the Rear Cross Traffic Alert System (RCTA).

When reversing, the RCTA uses a radar to detect vehicles, static objects and pedestrians approaching the area behind you and is designed to alert you via a buzzer and via your centre display and Head-up Display.³

SRS AIRBAGS

SRS AIRBAGS

Feel protected in the event of a collision, thanks to the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) airbags in the LS.

The full complement of airbags includes front airbags, front seat knee airbags, seat mounted side airbags and curtain shield airbags designed to protect driver and passengers alike. F Sport grades are equipped with 10 airbags and Sports Luxury grades are equipped with 12 airbags.

In addition, front and knee airbags for the driver and front passenger are designed to work together to achieve a better distribution of the loads that impact the body in the event of a collision.

BLIND SPOT MONITOR

BLIND SPOT MONITOR

During lane changes, the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) detects vehicles present in the driver’s blind spots (areas in lanes either side of the vehicle that cannot be seen using the outer mirrors).

When there is a vehicle detected in the blind spots, or if a vehicle is approaching at speed from the rear within the blind spots, the driver is notified via an illuminated signal in the corresponding rear-view mirror, helping you to change lanes with confidence.³

PANORAMIC VIEW MONITOR

PANORAMIC VIEW MONITOR

The Panoramic View Monitor uses the vehicle's front, side and rear cameras to create a composite image, allowing the driver to observe the surrounding area of their vehicle.

At low speeds, the 12.3 inch touch screen will respond to your driving movements to display the best view.³
